GreatEyeGlasses.com Ordering Checklist
GreatEyeGlasses.com Ordering Checklist

The following is a list of information you will need to place your eyeglass order with GreatEyeGlasses.com:

•  A frame from our website that will fit you
•  Your current eyeglass prescription
•  Your PD (Pupillary Distance)

1)  Current frame measurements:  It is a good idea to measure your current frame width and lens height so that you can find glasses on our website that are similar in size.  When you click on the "Details" link for each frame, all of the frame measurements are listed.

You do NOT have to choose a frame that is the exact same size as your current frame.  You just want to find one that is pretty close.

2)  Your PD (Pupillary Distance):  Your PD is the distance in millimeters between your pupils from center to center.  If you are going to get a new prescription before ordering, please be sure to ask them to give you your PD.  If you currently have your prescription and don't have your PD, you can call either your doctor or the last place that made your previous glasses and they should be able to give that to you.

3)  Your Prescription:  Please make sure you have a current prescription.  When entering your prescription on our website, please pay special attention to make sure you enter negative and positive numbers correctly.

4)  Choosing Single Vision or Multi-Focal glasses:  Single vision glasses are either reading or distance glasses.  They have one prescription in them and will be good for either reading or distance depending on your prescription.

Multi-Focal glasses are either Bifocal or Progressive glasses.  In these glasses the distance portion of  your prescription is in the top 70% of the lens and your reading portion is in the bottom 30% of your lens.

Bifocal have a line to designate where on the lens the reading portion starts.  This line is etched into the lens.  A Progressive lens is a no line bifocal.  Just looking at the lens itself, there is no line, but the reading portion is in the bottom 30% of the lens with a transition from distance to reading.
